HEY THERE! MY NAME IS CHASE, AND I'M THE FOUNDER OF THE ORGANIC GROOMING BRAND, LOCUST & HONEY. I'M 23 YEARS OLD, AND WAS BORN AND RAISED IN THE SOUTHERN STATE OF GEORGIA.
AS IRONIC AS IT MAY SOUND, ORGANIC HAIR CARE WAS NEVER SOMETHING I DREAMED OF GETTING INTO. I CAME FROM A BLUE COLLAR BACKGROUND, PURSUING THE TRADES SINCE I GRADUATED HIGH SCHOOL BACK IN 2020; SPECIFICALLY, ELECTRICAL.
HOWEVER, ONE DAY THAT ALL CHANGED.
I REMEMBER IT LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY. I WAS USING THE POMADE I HAD USED FOR YEARS, AND OUT OF CURIOSITY, TOOK A PEAK AT THE INGREDIENTS INSIDE OF IT. A LIST OF UNPRONOUNCEABLE SLOP LONGER THAN 'WAR AND PEACE' STARED BACK AT ME.
"NO WONDER MY SCALP IS ITCHY AND MY HAIR IS THINNING," I THOUGHT. I HAD BEEN USING RADIOACTIVE WASTE ON MY HAIR FOR THE LAST FIVE YEARS AND WAS COMPLETELY IGNORANT OF IT UNTIL THAT MOMENT. IT WAS THEN I DECIDED TO STEP UP, SAY NO, AND TRY MY HAND AT CRAFTING SOMETHING BETTER; SOMETHING HEALTHIER.
I WASN'T GOING TO BE A LAB RAT TO BE TESTED ON BY BIG COSMETIC. SO, MY JOURNEY TO CRAFTING THE PERFECT POMADE WITH ONLY ORAGANIC INGREDIENTS BEGAN.
